About me...
I am based in the Sacramento area in California, and know the Valley as well as anyone can. I have detected in many great places, and consider myself very lucky to have gone hunting over the years with some of the genuine legends in the hobby. Big Valley Metal detectors was conceived in 2004 after repeated attempts by my detecting buddy, Greg from Trans Bay, to get me into the business. He thought that I'd do well in that end of the hobby, and, as it turned out, he was absolutely right. Specializing in White's Electronics Metal Detectors, I am proud to say that Big Valley is one of White's most up to date regional representatives. Aside from White's, I also stock Minelab, Tesoro, Fisher, Bounty Hunter, and many top-of the line specialized accessories. I carry a good selection of modern sluices, classifiers and other gold mining equipment. When you come see me, I'll show you the various models, which I keep on display and in stock, and honestly tell you what you should expect to get out of this interesting hobby. I think that one of the most important things for success in this hobby is proper training. Metal detecting, like driving, just cannot be learned from reading a book. WHAT TO EXPECT...... (aside from a well stocked showroom) Individualized Field Training: When you purchase your detector from us, I'll personally take you out to a local park to teach you how to use and enjoy your new machine. You'll be digging good targets before you know it! Commitment To Excellence: I'll gladly give you the benefit of my years of experience. You can usually reach me when other stores are closed, and I'll make sure that you get the things you need to enjoy your hobby as much as you can. Unsurpassed Service: When you buy your new metal detector from me, I'll be more than happy to assemble it for you, which is always better than trying to do it yourself! After you get started with your new hobby, you can always call me for expert service and advice, 7 days a week. At times you will find it helpful to have someone you can call when you have questions while you are out detecting. In fact, if you do business with me, you'll never hunt alone unless you want to. I am a regional Authorized dealer for White's, Minelab and many other brands. I get out in the field daily, so you should call before coming out, to make sure I'll be available to assist you. Being home-based, on very rare occasions my wife may aswer the phone for me. She is involved in the hobby to the extent that any nice rings I bring home, she immediately confiscates. Big Valley Metal Detectors carries a large variety of professional metal detectors, gold mining equipment, accessories, as well as a good selection of informational and instructive books. I'm a longtime resident of the Central Valley, and am well versed in the techniques required for hunting treasure in the valley throughout the year. This is important, as ground conditions vary greatly from site to site and season to season. Depending on current workload, local field training can also be arranged in Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Orangevale, Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Elk Grove, Davis, Rancho Cordova, Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Loomis, Lodi, Stockton, Woodland, Marysville, Yuba City, Placerville, Auburn, and really, throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley.
